Thank you for visiting the web-site for Stockport Parish Church.

We very much hope that you will come and meet us at St Mary's in the Marketplace as soon as ever possible.

Our opening times are however unfortunately still somewhat limited for which we apologise.    For various reasons the number of people available to assist us open our doors has reduced since Covid  - and we are no longer (at least for the time being)  able to open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as we did before the pandemic struck.  We are however at church for regular Sunday and Tuesday worship and at other times for visiting us and/or the Stockport Heritage Trust  - or to come in for some quiet time and perhaps light a candle.

Sunday services are held at 11.00am ) - we open the doors at around 10.00am - everyone is most welcome to join us or just pop in for awhile before or after the service (but we hope that you will join us for Holy Communion / Morning Prayer and stay for a tea/coffee afterwards).

We are  open on a Tuesday  and Saturday - from  10.30am am - 2pm (including the 12.15pm  Tuesday lunch-time service).   The  Stockport Heritage Trust is open at St Mary's on both those days  - at the same time as the church.  Please note that the cafe closes a little earlier at 1.30pm

Limited refreshments are available Tuesday and Saturday at "Host" our cafe outlet.  Enjoy a fresh bean-to-cup coffee at a very reasonable price.

Safeguarding

"All parishes are required to participate in a Past Cases Review, commissioned by the Church of England. PCR2, as it is known nationally, is part of the Church's ongoing scrutiny of its handling of past and current safeguarding cases. An Independent Reviewer will be looking at files relating to church officers in this parish, both lay and ordained, past and present.

"Individuals who wish to make representations to the PCR2 process, or who need to come forward with information or make any disclosures, are encouraged to make direct contact with the . However, recognising that this may not feel safe for those with a lived experience of abuse from within the Church, a dedicated telephone helpline - 0800 80 20 20 - operated independently from the Church, by the NSPCC, has been set up."

St. Mary's takes its duty and obligation to protect all extremely seriously.

We have adopted the national Church of England's robust procedures and guidelines.

You can find out more about the national policies and procedures at www.churchofengland.org/safeguarding .
